A magazine with sharp corners.
Crumpet Riot started in 2025 as a group chat that argued too much. Now it’s a weekly magazine for anyone who likes their opinions strong and their words small.
Why we started
Nine friends, one group chat, too many opinions.
We were a cook, a sound engineer, two programmers, a city planner, a stylist and three people who just liked arguing. The group chat got so long that someone suggested we write the arguments down properly.
Issue 001 went to 41 people on a Friday in January 2025. We still send it on Fridays, still at 7am, and still refuse to add a single pop-up. There are 31,400 of you now. Thank you for reading the arguments.
